Floating Support Service
Our Goals - Our Floating Support Service provides low level housing related support to adults with learning disabilities to live independently in their own homes
Our Aims - For tenants to have control over their lives and to gradually reduce the support they need from Delos
Our support is focused on:
- Adults with learning difficulties who are over 18 years of age and live in
Northamptonshire
- Meeting houseing needs
- Agreeing and reviewing support plans
- Increasing independence
- Individuals who live in their own home, who either pay rent for the property or are owners of the property
Our support will help individuals to:
- Manage the payment for their accommodation
- Budget and manage bills
- Claim welfare benefits and housing benefits
- Understand their responsibilities as a tenant or owner occupier
- Obtain all the necessary service into their home i.e. gas, electricity, water etc
- Know how to deal with repairs and/or improvements to their home
- Keep their accommodation warm, safe and comfortable
- Look after themselves and stay safe
- Find additional care and support if needed
- Develop skills to manage appliances/equipment in their home
- Build neighbour relations
- Connect with their community to prevent isolation or feeling trapped in their own home
- Liaise with other agencies
