2010 Delos Charity Collection

This year we are collecting dried and tinned foods, pasta, soups, tea and any other non-perishable food for The Hope Centre . Who supports people who are down on their luck, including, the homeless, those with physical or mental health issues or drug & alcohol dependency.  Many elderly, isolated and lonely people also use the cafe every day. For a small fee they can buy a full breakfast and a cooked lunch.  Free tea and coffee is provided all day.  A take out service also provides bread, cereal bars and tins of food for just 20p. The centre relies on donations from the public.

2009 Delos Community raised £428 for Daisy Chain Club Northampton

Delos Community service users and staff raised £428 for their chosen charity – Daisy Chain Club.  A support group based in Northampton for carers and families if children  with special needs.  Once again this was achieved from fundraising discos and raffles.

2008 Delos Community raised £1000 for Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance

Delos Community service users and staff raised a massive £1000 for their chosen charity - Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. This impressive total was achieved from four fundraising events; a Karaoke Night, Charity Summer Disco, Parachute Jump by Linzi Payge – Registered Manager Pyramid Service and a stall at Wellingborough’s Annual Carnival.

To recognise this excellent achievement a presentation event was held to celebrate the hard work, commitment, enthusiasm and community participation of all involved.  Mayor of Wellingborough, Eileen Higgins kindly presented the cheque on behalf of Delos Community for £1000 to Christine Arnott representing Warkwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. Wellingborough Carnival

Delos Community will be entering Wellingborough Carnival and we want this year to be bigger and better than ever!!

The theme for this year’s carnival is ‘The World Today Past Present & Future’ This year we will again be supported by Catch 22 charity, and between us we have chosen  ‘costumes from around the world’ as our theme

We need volunteers from across Delos Community to help us make this year’s parade the best ever. We will be meeting on the last Thursday of every month 6pm-8pm at the resource centre. If you wish to join in please contact Linzi 01933 677889 or linzip@delos.org.uk
