What is Positive Behavioural Support?
Positive Behavioural Support is an approach that uses person centred practices combined with Applied Behaviour Analysis to work effectively and non aversively with people who present behaviours which challenge services.
Aims & objectives
- To define and understand challenging behaviour in adults with learning disabilities
- To understand and contribute to the process of functional assessment
- To understand how multi element intervention strategies are devised and implemented
- To be able to observe and record behavioural data accurately
- To be able to support and manage staff who work with adults with challenging behaviour
- To be able to appreciate the ethics and theory of behavioural modification
Who should attend?
The two-day foundation training course is aimed at managers, supervisors and those who wish to pursue a specific interest in challenging behaviour
